How to build an email list from Scratch

Becoming successful online is pretty simple once you have a solid business model. At the core of any successful internet marketers business model is list building.
I'm sure you've heard it before "the money is in the list". It's a reason why they say it. It's true. Building an email list and establishing a relationship with your list will allow you to market products over and over again.
On the surface, list building may seem like a complicated task and a lot of hard work. But in reality, it's really the opposite. So, how do you build a list and a relationship with your subscribers? It's actually quite simple once you have all of the ingredients.
First, you have to decide who your list is going to target, your niche market. After that, you will need to sign up with an auto responder service. There are a few good ones out there, but AWeber seems to be the service chosen by most marketers, including myself. Next, you will write your email messages. This is the part where a lot of people get stuck and back out. Trust me I know, I've been there. It's really not hard; we will talk more about that in a moment.
After you've chosen your niche, joined with an auto responder service, and written about 10-20 emails, it's time to move to the next phase, which is building your squeeze page. Building a squeeze page used to require you to know programming code, but nowadays you can find squeeze page generators that will build it for you with a few clicks of a mouse. Once all of that is done, you simply upload your squeeze page to your server and drive targeted traffic. The key word there is "targeted".
Now, getting back to where most people get stuck at. This is the same point where I used to get stuck, writing emails. It's good to have a system to follow. The main goal of your emails is to build a relationship with your subscribers. Building a relationship will make your list trust you. When they trust you, they buy and buy often.
So, how do you build a strong relationship with your list? Simple, deliver quality content and provide value to your subscribers. When you do recommend a product or service, make sure it's something that will be useful to them. You may be thinking, how do will I know what will be valuable and useful to my subscribers? Easy, ask them what they want to learn more about.
Doing this accomplishes a few things; it builds rapport which leads to building relationships and it also tell you what to write your emails about and what types of products/services you list will be interested in buying. The members of your list are getting help solving their problem and you are making money at the same time. It's a win-win situation.
